My Story
Niya Bajaj, is a best-selling author, award winning mental health champion, mentor and philanthropist. Her ideas have been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, Yoga Therapy Today and the book "Are We Friends or Coworkers?".
As an internationally certified holistic yoga therapist, narrative medicine facilitator and public service professional she is deeply invested in GLIC's mission to end loneliness and social isolation through a systems level approach to social connection.
In her private practice, she supports women navigating body image, burnout, boundaries, and menopause. She also delivers wellness-centered leadership programs to improve employee psychological safety, engagement and performance for organizations including Accenture, Brookfield Investments, BMO, and the University of Toronto. She has also held executive and governance positions at organizations committed to improving social determinants of health for systemically excluded populations for over a decade.
As an immigrant to and settler in Tkaronto on Dish with One Spoon land, a meeting place for many Indigenous communities and currently cared for by the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation she is grateful to learn how to be in good relationship with all beings from knowledge keepers and Elders. She shares her home with her two cats who remind her to be mindful and deeply curious every day.
